COTTON

Cotton thread, obtained by processing the fibers taken from the cocoon seeds in the capsule of the plant called cotton, in various machines, is widely used especially in the production of clothes. The cotton plant grows in a hot and dry climate. Fiber length is between 15-50 mm. Cotton yarn is generally classified into three systems according to fiber properties; Combed cotton consists of thin and long fibers. Carded ; It consists of thick and short fibers. Vigoine; It is made from carded and combed yarn residues. Cotton yarn is also classified according to its formation characteristics; Ring yarn is formed by twisting with the classical spindle system. In open-end yarn, the fibers are given a turn by air pressure. Although the use of cotton has decreased significantly due to the increase in synthetic fiber production and diversity, it maintains its leadership among all fiber and yarn types.
